TOP 5 BRIDAL ALTERATION TIPS

1. EVERY bride needs alterations

We order as close to your size as possible, but the fit will never be perfect for your specific measurements. At the very least, you’ll need a hem & bustle.

2. Alterations are NOT included in the price of your dress

The price will vary depending on what needs to be done to your dress, count on initially spending around $300-400. Some brides request more extensive alterations, for example, a custom change such as adding sleeves will be a higher expense.

3. At Verità, we have an expert seamstress who works with the majority of our brides

She is not our employee, rather an independent contractor who makes her own prices and works out of her own studio just a few minutes from Verità. You will schedule your fittings directly through her!

4. start alterations no later than 2 months prior to the wedding/portrait date

If you’re doing customizations like adding straps, lowering the back etc., you’ll need closer to 3 months. If you don’t have that much time, don’t worry the seamstress we recommend may be able to work with a shorter time frame.

5. Alterations are MAGIC!

Having your dress fit like a glove makes all the difference in the world. Trust the seamstress’s recommendations, and you’ll love your dress even more!
