Verita bride: chelsea & Scott

We love our Verita brides and we love when we get to see pictures and hear the stories of their beautiful wedding days!! This week we are going to look at the classy, elegant, perfectly intimate wedding of Chelsea & Scott. We'll hear all about them and their wedding, in Chelsea's words, and took a look at the dreamy pictures from this downtown dream wedding!

how did you meet?

Scott & I met at The Darling Oyster Bar, downtown, one random weeknight out. I knew a guy in his group, which made the introduction to each other pretty easy. After a few months (Scott would say long months) of casually dating, something clicked and we just became inseparable. Prior to dating we built a really good foundational friendship with each other, which in the end is what has made our relationship so special - we truly are each others best friends!

how did the proposal happen?

We visited St Pete Beach every year since we met, for a week long get together with Scott's family. In 2019 we were headed for our third year vacationing together. Scott has the crazy idea that he wanted to propose that week - literally one week prior to us leaving. Thank goodness for a quick turnaround on the engagement ring, he was able to make it happen. On a sunset walk on the beach, on our second night in St Pete, Scott got down on one knee. I couldn't tell you what he said because I was just in such shock - but of course I said yes! We got to spend the rest of the week vacationing as a newly engaged couple!

Tell us about your experience at verita

I cannot begin to say enough great things about my experience shopping at Verita. One of the most exciting parts for me about getting married was dress shopping. Jessica probably thought I was crazy because I brought 7 people to my appointment! Verita was the first bridal appointment I had and ended up being the only one. When I arrived, I showed Jessica a photo of what I thought I liked - she basically had the dress in there store. It was the first dress I tried on and the dress that ended up being the one! I tried on maybe 15 other dresses, but went back to the first dress and purchased it! I ended up with the dress I thought I wanted and was so excited. I wanted something unique but not too nontraditional. Verita helped me find exactly what I envisioned!

let's hear about the wedding

We knew we wanted a black tie formal wedding, in the fall, so October was a no brainer. The second we toured SC Society Hall, we knew it was the perfect location for our intimate wedding. The vision we had for our day was obvious from the start. Simple, yet not understated, classic and a pure definition of the two of us. From day one of planning this celebration, our main goal was for our guests to feel like it was a true indication of who we were as a couple. We wanted our guests to walk in and say "this is exactly Scott & Chelsea".

My goal for my vision was to be different, but stick with what I knew I loved. One of the main standouts from our wedding was the use of only greenery - all different types of greenery - as the florals without any added flowers. Taking greenery and making it into an elegant affair was a super exciting task for our florist. Another element that stood out from our celebration was the use of colors, or rather use of neutrals. We paired crisp whites, with ivory and tans - added touches of wood elements and gold accents for a truly glamorous, yet elegant black tie affair.

We of course had to pay a little tribute to our fur babies, Finn & Wags, with a party favor for each of our guest - a delicious little cookie! To end the night, french fry cones were passed around for all the guests to enjoy while on the dance floor - as french fries are my favorite!

Congrats to the newlyweds and thank you for allowing Verita to be a part of your day! Cheers to a lifetime of happiness and love!
